Alexis Bledel  made her television debut in 2000 with a guest appearance on the series "Gilmore Girls."

Bledel's breakthrough role was as Rory Gilmore on the hit show "Gilmore Girls," which she starred in from 2000 to 2007.

In 2005, Bledel starred in the romantic comedy "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants," which became a box office success and spawned a sequel.

Bledel was cast in the role of Lena Kaligaris in "The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants" after the director saw her on an episode of "Gilmore Girls."

She won a Young Artist Award in 2001 for her work on "Gilmore Girls."

Bledel made her film debut in the 1998 indie film "Rushmore," directed by Wes Anderson. 

She has also appeared in a number of other films, including "Sin City," "Post Grad," and "Violet & Daisy."

Bledel played a small role in the 2016 revival of "Gilmore Girls," which was released on Netflix.

She has also done voice-over work, lending her voice to the animated films "Tinker Bell" and "The Conspirator."

In 2017, Bledel won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role on "The Handmaid's Tale."

Bledel has been married to actor Vincent Kartheiser since 2014, and they have a son together. 

Despite her success on television and in film, Bledel is known for being incredibly private about her personal life.
